place them through adoption

Congratulations to the Sixth Winner
of Volunteers of the Month ~
Andreas Moser
Kennel Weekend Sunday Volunteer since he adopted in 1996 his first
greyhound, Eclipse that is now 14 years. Plus now, Marisol( 12

exotic places with his job.
The Home Again Microchip is partnering with our adoption program.
GFNC
has added a safe guard to our adoption package. GFNC will chip each
greyhound for a cost
of $30.00 and automatically process the registration form. The cost
of Lifetime registration is $14.99
paid upon completion of the adoption contract. By registering
through us, you save the $10 activation fee. This assures that each
greyhound has 24/7 reliable on-call information available, name
phone, address,
phone number and any medical information . If lost they call
888-466-3242 at any shelter, veterinarian or emergency clinic
at the swipe of a scanner and returns your lost pet. As back up,
GFNC has our own database to view to help locate a lost greyhound. We
also have the paperwork to transfer a prior owner to your names.
Clink on link above and read about all the advantages of
Microchipping!
Check the
Calendar of Events section of our
website often.
We need lots of volunteers to attend these events. They always
include your greyhound
that creates a great way to promote our Adoption Program. May 3 & 4, 2008 See you
again next year.

Greyhound Friends of North Message Board
Divided into areas of interest- Click on Link and Join so you can
keep up with all
the up-to-date Cold Nose News or a place to ask questions.

GFNC now has our
very own Message Board where we can all communicate with members from
all over the state!
Leah Cales has provided instructions on how to
register, post a message, and use the most popular features!
There are a lot of benefits of having a Message Board like this -
the
biggest one is that we can now post PICTURES right in our messages!
We can all chat with each other -
so we are no longer only chatting with the people in our own
Satellite!
So join today, let's get started talking with each other!
Any questions or problems registering contact Leah Cales:

If you live
in the Guilford County-Triad Area and are interested in volunteer work
with Greyhounds, consider becoming one of our kennel volunteers.
It is a wonderful opportunity to help, and a chance to interact with
greyhounds.
Kennel volunteers are trained and work under supervision until we feel a volunteer is
trained.
Volunteers may work as much as one
shift a week or as little as one shift a month,
depending on how much time they have to give.
We also have
immediate openings for weekday evening (5:30-6:30pm) turnout volunteers. Don't be shy
about volunteering; there is always room for another volunteer
If you are interested in
volunteering at Greyhound Friends please contact Blanche Fedor, Volunteer
Coordinator a 336.707.8530 or 336.852.9739 or email:
greytvolunteer@earthlink.net
Because we are a non-profit organization, we rely
on donations to feed and house the greyhounds and to cover the costs of any
medical expenses beyond the norm. Our adoption fees only help to cover
the basic medical requirement for adoptive placement: spay/neuter,
dental cleaning, shots, worming, etc.

Support Greyhound Adoption LICENSE PLATE
Click on Link for the
application
In order to complete the requirements for Greyhound Adoption License Plate,
we
have
to sell 300. Click on the Link to Print and Complete the License
Plate Application.
You can now have a Greyhound Adoption License Plate from the State of
North Carolina.
Help get the word out about greyhounds. The license plate is
sponsored by GFNC. All it will cost you is an extra $20/50 over what
your yearly license plate costs-the same as any specialized or
personalized plate.
Before the order can be placed with NCDMV, 300 applications (along with
payment of the fee) must be collected. This is a requirement of
the NCDMV.
All monies collected will be held in a separate bank account and IF 300
applications have NOT been sold, the money will be refunded.
Applications and Payment should be mailed to:
Greyhound Friends of N.C. ~2908 Oak Ridge Road ~ Oak Ridge, NC 27310
There is no time limit for collection these applications, but the sooner
we get 300, the sooner we can get the plates out. It doesn't help
to wait to see if we get 300 before you apply - if everyone does that,
we never will. Please help us made that total- you don't have to
keep them in the future if you don't want to
